Typically anything Google is easy to soak up and enjoy but the recent roll out (in beta form) of the Google + platform was circulated like wildfire then seemed to cool just as fast. Invites to join Google+ seemed in demand and sought after. I jumped on the bandwagon, started playing around and couldn't figure out what it was, or what it did. It seemed a common question - what is this thing? Is it just Facebook, but by Google? As a result the fervor about Google + seemed to quiet just as quickly. Well apparently I'm not just imagining it. Last night, an engineer at Google posted a bit of a rant about Google + and how Google was failing it. Rather than post it though to his internal teams it was posted to the public. Clearly an error Mr. Yegge quickly took his post down but not of course before some folks read, saw, reposted and paraphrased his rant.
