So, I started back to work last week and now that I have a few days worth of perspective on this time I'd like to share some of the things I've learned.

1. Right before Heidi was born friends with more than one child would laugh and say, "Going from 1 to 2 kids is kind of like going from 1 to 10". I thought they were being dramatic. They were right.


2. Any stay at home mother who manages dinner on the table by 6pm is a miracle worker, or has a personal chef cooking for them.


3. Getting anywhere on time is nearly impossible. I go everywhere 1-9 minutes late and I'm usually sweaty.


4. Those who get to grocery shop during the week are super lucky.


5. Daytime TV has NOT found a replacement for Oprah. In fact, most shows these days are 'group hosted' thereby proving Oprah did alone what it takes 5 people to do 1/3 as well (see: The Talk, The View, The Revolution). Anderson Cooper is reviving Phil Donahue and kinda sucks at it. Rachel Ray is the second most annoying person on TV. (First place is a tie with Nancy Grace and Guy Fieri). The Chew is the only decent new option but if you're not into food you'd probably find it boring.


6. If an alien lands in the U.S. and watches said daytime TV they will presume the biggest concern of women in the US is the length of their eyelashes.


7. Sleep when the baby sleeps really only works when you have your first child.


8. There's no shame in accepting help - and my advice to ANY new parents is TAKE ANY OFFER!!!!! It took me two kids to learn that one.

Thanks to our friends, Sue and John, we got to make Libby's first time ice skating extra special because it was at Consol Energy Center, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins. She did great and so did her boyfriend, Jack!

We've been taking pictures of these two sweeties together since the very beginning . . . I smell a slideshow of them coming up!
