On Milestones

It used to be life was measured by my own big life milestones like, graduate from college, graduate from grad school, first job, get married and so forth. Life now is measured in much much smaller milestones. Libby had two full days of no accidents at school this week. Tonight, after a day of close calls, Heidi rolled over for the first time. Somehow, these small milestones seem so much bigger than the monumental stage gates from my past.

They are both bigger and smaller.... As I sit in a hotel before E and I compete in their first meet and Abby sits home studying for her first set of mid-term exams! It's cool that you will have a record of both the big and small ones!

I'll Never Forget You, Jenny

Our little Jenny died tonight. She was 15 years old, lived a wonderfully long and happy life, and went peacefully in her sleep. But she was a faithful companion through lots of life's adventures and we'll miss having her around.

Bye, Jenny. I'll see you on a walk through Prospect Park in heaven with all our other little doggies, where I'll call you each by name!

Holiday Roundup
