Glad Tidings From New York

My mom always told me I was "special," but I'm happy to announce that as of today, I'm no longer a SPECIAL Assistant District Attorney, I'm now a full-fledged, REGULAR old ADA. It may have taken over one thousand hours of working "pro bono," but this news is very exciting, I'm both thrilled and relieved, and I'm looking forward to making a strong contribution to this office.

MANY, many thanks to everyone who's helped me through. Most especially, thanks to Sweet Kati for her emotional, financial, and strategic support. Thanks too, to Paula and Bob, also for making this ordeal possible financially and for offering their advice and encouragement.

Classy Outgoing Messages From Classy People

In my life, I get to make lots of phone calls to lots of people who's most valuable possession in life is their cell phone. Most of these people don't want to talk to me (wonder why!), so I ALSO get to hear lots of outgoing voice-mail messages.

Some of these messages are SO exceptional, I decided I just HAD to start compiling a list. I'll add to it as I come across new ones!

- " . . . and leave your number, damn it! Don't assume people have your number. Don't assume it's just on the top of their head and you're so important that they just know your number. Leave it! You don't have to leave the time. Just leave your phone number and that you called. Thank you."

- "It's 2005 and I've already made a few changes in my life . . . leave a message and I'll get back to you. If I don't get back to you, you're one of those changes."

Dumplings vs. Lamisil Tablets Monster?

I don't know . . . after Stefanie's comment regarding the visual appeal of the dumplings, I didn't have any CHOICE but to go back and do a little research. And, yeah, I guess the Lamisil Tablets monsters (who apparently only speak Spanish? . . . ) DO loose a little bit of their effect when they're not animated and gnawing away flesh and whatnot . . . but the same as yum-yum delic' dumplings?--I don't THINK so!

Steelers rally for 24-22 win; Roethlisberger hurt

Whew! That was a SUPER-late one, Monday Night Football style. But no worries, Big Ben's knee is only hyper extended and it looks as if he MAY be able to play against the 3-2 Jaguars on Sunday.

Indeed it WAS a late night...but well worth the lack of sleep to see the Black and Gold win. I even had my towel out (thanks for the towel Paula!)

And while I'm releived that Big Ben's knee will be ok, I'm ALSO thrilled that the Jets took down the BUCS this weekend! woo hoo!

The Steeler win though was the best part of a night that also contained the end of the Yankee bid for the World Series!
