We don't do this often . . . we've NEVER done this before. But--like ALL good websites--we want twodoebs.com to serve YOU well. And your feedback on how you enjoy this site would be VERY helpful in helping us plan how we write the content we post up here.
So would you PLEASE follow the link below and fill out a SHORT survey about how you use twodoebs.com? It's ONLY 10 questions and it should take you less than 5 minutes to fill out. Your responses will NOT be posted on this site, so those of you who are keyboard-shy and never post comments will not have to break with tradition. But getting a sense of who's actually reading this page WILL be helpful to us in knowing what we should be writing.

I've been to some fun parties in my day. But they've all been--really--1) weddings or 2) parties that my PARENTS were the true invited guests and I was just a tagger-alonger. That's why I was SO pleased to attend the annual Lobster Party thrown by Kate A. last night . . . it was a FANTASTIC party of WEDDING proportions and it was attended solely by Pittsburghers from OUR generation.
First of all, this was the first time I'd been in Kate's Lawrenceville home and it's truly charming. More importantly, though, she's REALLY got this party down to a science. Part of the fun was just watchin' her conduct this event like an orchestra. Honestly, what she REALLY did was throw a party with THREE separate seatings--clean place settings and table cloths for each. It was REALLY impressive.
Also noteworthy was seeing my old friend David B. again--man, it's probably been 20 years since I saw him. We used to dissect caterpillars on Timber Town together (does any of that mean anything to anybody?).
I used a remote flash for these pictures. It was the first time I've ever used multiple Speedlites in the field. I had lots of fun with THAT, too. (and many thanks to Kati for being a great assistant!)

As a special treat for our loyal twodoebs fans, I'd like to present the following sideshow of my father's best photographs. He's, OBVIOUSLY, very talented and his work is just lots of fun--some might even say "neat!" I learn tons about my OWN photography just by hanging around him (and mooching all of his gear!). Many thanks to him for sharing his pictures!
Libby has faith it could happen today!
